About the Blog

Dead Man’s Chest is dedicated to the entire suite of Firelock Games titles, offering fans a way to stay up-to-date with news, updates, reviews, and tutorials to help maximize enjoyment of your favorite wargames. The blog is managed by a 5-year veteran of the Firelock community; who’s been involved in everything from playtesting to podcasting, event hosting, global community campaigns, and tournament gaming. DMC hopes to use that wealth of experience to bring new players into the hobby of historical wargaming, hopefully in to one or more of the Firelock titles, and to provide seasoned Firelock Aficionados with fresh perspectives and new techniques for their gaming.

Tyler Stone

Captain, Founder & Chief Content Creator

I’ve been wargamer since childhood, starting with a 3rd grade understanding of Games Workshop’s ‘Warhammer Fantasy’ and ‘Warhammer 40k’ game systems. By the time GW pulled the rug out from under my favorite system, I had developed popular Fan Army Books, moderated a massive online forum, and traveled to events up across the length and breadth of the US.

Looking for an alternative to the defunct game, I discovered ‘Blood & Plunder’ and applied the same “big game energy” into the growing title and the company behind it. More than 5 years later I have a basement full of tiny pirates, big resin ships, and shelves of handmade terrain.

And I’ve never looked back.

I’ve been Tyler’s partner in life and in crime since 2015, but I’ve been web designing as a hobby since 2003, and blogging since 2011. When Tyler decided to create a blog of his own, I offered my expertise to create a space that suited his needs – and also looked really cool. 😎

Tyler is the writer and gamer you all know and love, while I am the quiet presence in the background making it all run smoothly – both on and offline.

I also enjoy occasionally dressing up as a pirate in my spare time. 🏴‍☠️☠️🍻
